Mia Kivinen has earned her Master's Degree from the department of lighting and sound design at the Theatre Academy, Finland. She has worked as lighting designer in numerous theatre and contemporary dance productions in Finland, most recently with Satu Tuomisto and Liisa Pentti. Actuator is the first collaboration between Ms. Kivinen and Thomas Freundlich.
